It is April. Fourteen months after the severe ice storm, and still, we have not completed the clean up. The work goes on. The work area is seen in the lower right hand corner of the above photo.
This viewpoint is actually several yards to the left from Look Out Point. So, we cannot see the steepest section of the bank.
In the distance we can see the small meadow, and picnic table. Behind the picnic table is the Woodland Garden and the almost circular path leading through it. The Woodland path takes visitors all the way around the loop then swings to the far back left where the path turns into another uphill path named Cliff Walk; that is the return path for our trip.
Still looking at the above photo, to the left is The Bank. Across from it, but out of view, is the Rockery and Terrace.
At first there were 60-foot sheer limestone cliffs, then the first owners of our house had 600 loads of soil delivered and put into place. That is how we get the current bowl effect.

In the distance can be seen the Terrace with the Rockery below. That is not snow, the Rockery is sporting its new mulch of finely crushed limestone and the pea gravel will be spread later.
From Look Out Point looking to our right, we can see the Terrace and the downhill path we will be taking. For now, we have to go back to the arbor and beyond to find the path.

The path takes us past the Magnolia grandiflora, then swerves around the stump of the old crabapple tree that was killed by drought a few years ago. There is a small nursery area out of view just past the magnolia on the right. Next comes the Terrace
then the Rockery.
The blue tarp on the left is covering our mulch pile, the product of all that grinding with our two little machines. That job went on for months and months, and totally wore out both machines.
Be careful on this path; it gets steep and is slippery when the clay earth is wet.
